Bertholdt x Reader
Pressing her back further into the familiar warmth wrapped around her, [Name] let out a soft sigh of contentment, the corner of her lips curved upwards in a small smile.
The arm which was draped around her waist pulled her closer to a firm, bare chest. His body moulded perfectly against hers, and he leant forward to place a chate kiss on the side of her throat.
"Good morning."
A groan escaped her lips in response, her hands reaching for his, lacing their fingers together as she hugged his hand close to her chest.
"It'll be better if we could just stay in bed all day..."
Giving her hand a small squeeze, he whispered, "you know we have to get up soon, love. "
Sighing heavily, [Name] shifted her body so she was now facing him, the rustle of the sheets momentarily interrupting the quietness of the room. His tall and lean body adjusted with her every movement, wrapping his arms around her again when she settled herself against his chest, her face nuzzling the crook of his neck.
He stroked the back of her hair, fingers gently tugging at the tangles present, smoothing out her [h/c] hair, relishing the feeling of her significantly smaller frame curled up against his.
"I guess ten more minutes in bed won't hurt."
Humming in agreement, [Name] took a deep breath, smiling smugly as she inhaled his familiar woodsy scent. He never failed to make her feel safe and protected. And whenever they were together like this, she would feel happy, loved, and most of all, she would feel pure, utter bliss.
"Hey Bertholdt?"
"Hmm?"

So, why wasn't anyone happy?
Though they had defeated the titans, it wasn't a celebratory moment. Countless lives had been lost, normal human beings who wanted to be martyrs' for humanity, had died for this cause.

You could almost feel him smirk at times when he spoke to you oh-so gently, his hands caressing the back of your nimble palms. His touch, albeit rough and bristly, startlingly soothed you - but it didn't block your longing to see his piercing blue hues. You feigned a smile towards the direction where you felt your lover's presence, hoping to ease his anxiety.
