Levi x Singer!Reader  [ Modern!AU ]
A/N: Trigger warnings for the middle part. Its not serious, but better safe than sorry right?

Her voice echoed against the walls of the concert hall, reverbing strongly through the microphone. Together with her backup dancers, she danced in perfect sync to the upbeat song, months of preparation preventing any mistakes from occurring.

Tiny beads of sweat rolled down the side of her face as she ended the last song for the night, a roaring applause erupting from the audience.

As she bid the audience goodnight, she took that short moment to actually see her fans. The neon signs, the light sticks, the adoring faces… that’s the only source of motivation left for her.

Ever since she had been scouted at an early age of 13, her music career boomed. Her songs topped the charts, easily becoming bestsellers. And by the time she was 20, she gained the title of “Pop Princess” in her nation, surpassing even the veterans of the field.

But everything came at a cost.

Being pulled away from her home for training and tours, she rarely saw her family and friends. And all of a sudden, everyone wanted to know her. All the people who once ignored her in school were suddenly her ‘best friend’.

She had to constantly go for practices, recordings and tours, which took a huge toll on her studies. Her image required her to maintain a perfect figure, thus preventing her from eating things she like, and having to work out a lot.

Privacy became a luxury. She was constantly trailed by paparazzi and fans, never being able to catch a breather. Leaving her house in a simple oversized shirt, shorts and flip-flops with her face bare of any makeup would become an Internet sensation.

She was absolutely sick of everything. But she had no idea what she would do if she left the industry.

Despite her fame and fortune, at the golden years of her career, she had never felt so lonely and lost in her life.

She was once so passionate about her music. Her voice always filled with emotions as she rocked to the tune of her favorite artist. Now, her singing was a million times better, yes. But her passion was gone. She no longer sang for herself anymore.

Slumping back into the plush couch on the tour bus, she nodded mindlessly at the things her agent was saying, probably telling her how the concert was a huge success and how they needed to prepare for her next album.

“[Name] are you even listening?” A voice jolted her out of her daydreams.

Jumping slightly in her seat, she turned her attention to the impeccably dressed lady before her. “Yeah of course! The next tour will be an even bigger success!”

A satisfied look could be seen on her agent’s visage as she continued to babble on about her schedule in the upcoming months.

‘God, I just want a break…’ She thought bitterly as she stared out at the dimly lit streets outside. It was her last concert of the tour and already she had a schedule planned out for her?

The discontent within her grew and while her agent was facing away from her, going on about a collaboration with another artist, she grabbed her wallet and sneaked out of the tour bus.

Breathing in the cool night air, she put her hands in the pockets of her striped blazer and walked into the town area.

Her boots clicked against the concrete path when she noticed a bar up ahead. Thinking she could use a drink, she stepped into the bar, making a beeline to the bar counter.

“A long island iced tea please,” [Name] muttered as she placed some money on the counter.

“Sure thing. Hey… you look kind of familiar…” The bartender glanced at her as he started making her drink. “Do I know you from somewhere?”

“I think you mistaken me for someone. People keep saying I look like one of the singers.” She lied smoothly, chuckling along with the bartender and thanked him as he passed her the drink.

Taking a sip, she glanced around the bar, almost choking when she saw a group of men ogling at her.

Quickly turning back to the counter, she started to panic internally. ’I should have changed into something more decent…’ she mentally chided herself as she looked down at the short playsuit she was wearing.

Alarms blared in her head when the whole group of them stood up from the table across the bar and walked towards the counter. Hastily putting the drink down, she rushed out of the bar, trying her best to keep calm. She searched her pockets and cursed her luck for forgetting to bring her phone with her.

“Where are you going, doll?”

“Come have some fun with us!”

Lewd voices called out to her, and she picked up her pace once she saw at least five of them gaining on her. A coarse hand grabbed her wrist and she screamed out in shock, swinging her hand back in defense.

Her ring cutting into the face of the man caused him to curse loudly, releasing his hold of her and she immediately made a dash for it. Tears were pricking at her eyes as she turned a corner and bumped into someone.

A hand holding onto her forearm prevented her from falling backwards. Her eyes were met with marble grey eyes.

Gripping onto him, she whispered desperately, “help me, please…”

He scanned her face with an indifferent expression before he tch-ed her and pushed her behind him as their voices grew louder.

Stepping into their line of vision, he smirked when they saw the blood drain from their face. “Shit. That’s Levi!” They would whisper among themselves as they slowly backed away.

She heard groans of pain and the sound of people falling to the ground and she peeked out from the corner she was in, worried about the stoic stranger from before.

Her eyes widened as she saw him taking down five buff men by himself, beating the daylights out of them as they begged for him to stop. After delivering a final kick to one of them, they stumbled away, tripping over their own feet and each other, desperate to get out of Levi’s sight.

“You look like shit,” was the first thing he said to her when he turned around.

Her fingers skimmed her cheekbones, feeling warm tears upon them. It was only then that her legs gave way, her body breaking down in sobs, thoughts of what might have happen running through her head.

An overwhelming sense of panic washed over her, heart pounding rapidly in her chest as she started hyperventilating. The world before her started to blur out, spiraling into her own mind with her terrified thoughts.

“Oh fuck,” she faintly heard as she hugged her knees close to her chest as she slipped in and out of her conscious mind.

Warm arms wrapped around her trembling form, causing her to thrash about, yelping loudly in protest. But Levi only held her close to him, guiding her head into the crook of his neck.

“Shhh…You’re safe now…”

He stroked her hair gently, murmuring words of comfort into her ears. “You don’t have to be scared anymore. I’m here.”

[Name] stopped struggling against his hold, pressing herself closer to this stranger who saved her.

“Take deep breaths and focus on your breathing,” Levi leaned away a little so he could tilt her chin up, locking his eyes upon hers.

“I’ll keep you safe. No one will hurt you again.”

~~

Needless to say, [Name] always felt safe whenever with she was with Levi, which was rather often. After the initial shock at finding out she was a famous singer, he still treated her as a normal human being. And that, was what she loved so much about him, despite the cold façade he showed her.

Although he hated to show it, he enjoyed her presence greatly. She wasn’t intimidated by him(much), and she had a knack for making him smile.  He had a constant urge to protect her, keeping her safe from all harm.

He taught her to stand up for herself. She taught him love.

“Tch. You shouldn’t be singing for anyone other than yourself.” He would always tell her. And she took his words to heart, standing up to her agent and eventually; they came up with a compromise for her schedule, giving her a lot more time off.

In return, she lighted up his world, spending most of her free time with him, breaking down the icy walls around him. Slowly, she managed to worm her way into his heart.

“Oi. Would you shut it already? I’m trying to read.” Levi grounded out at the girl beside him on the couch.

She smirked and nudged him. “You secretly like my singing, don’t you?”

“Your singing sounds like shit and it annoys me.”

Her smile on her face faltered and turned into one of hurt. Scooting away as far as she could on the small couch in his apartment, she looked down at her phone and said softly, “I’ll stop singing in front of you if you really hate it that much then…”

Levi let out a big sigh, moving next to her and putting an arm over her shoulder. “I never said I hated it… I just said it annoys me.”

“Everything annoys you, Levi,” she muttered indignantly.

“Exactly.”

Her lips twitched up slightly, but she wasn’t ready to forgive him just yet. “You said my singing is shitty.”

Looking down at her, he flicked her forehead. “Your singing is shitty. But everyone else is shittier.”

This time, her face visibly lit up. “Does that mean your singing is shitty too?”

“The shittiest.” He agreed, his eyes softening when he a giggle escaped through her lips.

~~

Disgust was the only word to describe Levi’s expression as he looked at the pile of envelops and packages on the living room floor. “Tch what is all this rubbish doing here. It’s messing up the place.”

“Its my fan mail.” [Name] said nonchalantly, reading one of the letters her fan wrote for her. “Be a dear and help me sort them out will you?”

“Tch…”

Reluctantly, Levi sat down on the floor beside her, and opened one of the letters. “Why is this fucking guy saying he loves you and wants to marry you?!”

Leaning over, she plucked the letter out of his hands and read it, a smile evident on her face.

“Do you always get this kind of letters?” He asked, a frown marring his face as he crossed his arms.

“Sometimes~ Wait… are you jealous?”

Her eyes was bright with mirth, while Levi growled, “No… I just don’t like it.”

Giving her fiancé a side hug, she sang, “You know that you’re the only one I want to spend the rest of my life with~”

Returning her embrace, he muttered after a short moment of silence. “I really wasn’t jealous.”

“Yeah sure~”

~~

He hated going for concerts. He hated the large crowd of people. He hated the noise. And he especially hated the outfits she had to wear while performing.

But for her, he would grit his teeth and endure all of it.

He attended every single one of her concerts, always present in the front rows, sometimes carrying a small board, which wrote sweet messages like ‘I love you’, or ‘I’m here for you’. He vehemently refuses to hold a light stick though, claiming it was stupid.

Yet on her final concert before she retired from her career as a singer, Levi was there, wearing a [f/c] fan shirt beneath his leather jacket, holding a light stick along with the rest of the crowd.

[Name] had never been happier.

Singing her heart out, the audience gave her a standing ovation, and tears pricked her eyes as she said her final goodbyes and thank yous to her fans.

After the concert, Levi found her backstage, where she ran into his arms.

“I’ll miss singing…”

“You can always re-contract with the company.”

“I rather live a quieter life with you though…” She sniffed.

Levi wore a small smile on his face. “Me too. I hate all these shitty fans.”

~~

“Mama! Could you sing with me?” A little girl with [h/c] plaits and big grey eyes said, stretching her hands out to [Name], who picked her up onto her lap.

“Of course,” [Name] poked her daughter’s cheek before she started singing her little girl’s favorite song.

A high child-like voice mixed into her melody, out of pitch but yet in perfect unison.

“Oi. Shut up already…” A voice sounded out when Levi appeared in the doorway.

“Daddy… you don’t like my singing?” [d/n]’s bottom lip quivered slightly.

“You have the voice of an angel. Of course I like your singing.” Levi said to her, picking her up from [Name]’s lap and placing her on his own.

“Your mum on the other hand…”

“I sing like shit, right?” [Name] laughed lightly.

“You sing perfectly.”
